Giuseppe Russo is a trained pianist who makes wonderful wines in Sicily, in the shadows of Mt. Etna. Ellen Bhang from the Boston Globe has a great write-up on this wine. Two things to know. 1 – certified organic and 2 – made with grapes you may never have heard of before – Nerello Mascalese with small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio.

Westfield Farm in Hubbardston, MA has been making goat cheese and winning awards for it since 1971. We love their logs of chèvre, and carry their plain, Classic Blue, Wasabi and Pepper logs. We paired the plain chèvre with Foolproof Brewery’s Farmhouse Saison at our store’s first beer & cheese seminar. The class loved it!

Fausse Piste 2011 Les Vignes de Marcoux Syrah
“The Les Vignes de Marcoux is from the Red Willow Vineyard in the Yakima Valley of Washington. 2012 Chardonnay – “Straw yellow with pale gold highlights. On the nose, citrus, white flowers, acacia and hazelnuts. The palette has a nice freshness, with elegant notes of citrus and brioche. A beautiful vintage which is accurate and holds well.”
2013 Pinot Noir – from Natalie Maclean: “I love really tart, almost sour, Old World Pinot Noir. It whets the appetite and is great with many dishes, but you have to be prepared for the acidity. Lagunitas Sucks Brown Shugga’ Ale - Lagunitas Brewing Company
Originally brewed in 2011 as a Brown Shugga’ substitute, due to construction-induced capacity issues. But we liked it so much it had to make a return trip.

Milcampos is Spanish for “One thousand fields”. This red wine from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain is flavorful, with a bright red fruit on the nose and cherry flavor through the palate. “Fresh, lively, intense and elegant”. This wine has a medium to full body.
ELOUAN – An Oregon Pinot Noir, crafted by Californian winemakers.
Elouan Pinot Noir emulates the successful sourcing philosophy we introduced with Meiomi: blending the top Pinot Noir regions together for a richer, more complex style than what you could achieve by sourcing from one small area. In this instance, our grapes are grown in the great Oregon Valleys of Willamette, Umpqua and Rogue. The diversity of these cool climate areas elongates the growing season, developing intense structure, while maintaining a vibrant acidity to differentiate it from any California Pinot Noir.
2012 Chardonnay – Charles & Charles
From the Winemaker: “The aromas start with notes of apple blossoms, lemon peel and subtle mango, and continue into mineral and wet slate notes with background of sweet pear, toasted spices and vanilla. On the palate you’re first hit with crisp apple and orange rind with tremendous focus, and length. The wine walks a beautiful line between rich full flavors and finesse. There’s luscious fruit and a touch of new oak without ever getting heavy or clumsy.”
The Grey Barn dairy herd produces the most wonderful, fresh certified organic, grass fed milk you have ever tasted. Our delightful herd of twenty-five, heritage breed, grass-fed cows are the reason. With this milk we developed a bloomy-rind cheese that is a true and straight forward expression of our milk and our pastures. The final result is Eidolon, a bright, grassy cheese that smells of freshly tilled earth and has a creamy layer topping its dense cake like center. This unique cheese is hand-made on Martha’s Vineyard.
Prisma — Sauvignon Blanc 2013 & Pinot Noir 2011
These two wines are from the Casablanca Valley in Chile. These wines are hand-harvested from blends of grapes in the valley. The white is an un-oaked, 100% Sauvignon Blanc and has a bright, fresh character. Citrus notes of lemon, lime, and grapefruit, combined with a mineral undertone lead to a crisp, elegant, and well-balanced finish. The red is 100% Pinot Noir and is a fresh, vibrant and aromatic wine. It shows bright red fruit notes of strawberry and cherry, with an underlying hint of oak, that leads to a lifted mid-palate and smooth, velvety finish.

Pair a lightly effervescent rosé with tapas (or pintxos) like croquetas and patatas bravas. Serve with garlicky shrimp, grilled sardines or anchovies. Great with thinly sliced ham and cured meats, too.
Award winning winemaker Miro Tcholakov considers the particular geology and seasonal climate variations of each vineyard when selecting the most interesting grapes the region has to offer. Monte Lago Vineyard provides the perfect terroir for the Mediterranian grape varieties in this wine – grenache, mourvedre and syrah. This wine offers seductive aromas of jammy strawberries, plums, dried rose petal and Herbes de Provence, a juicy mouthful and long, firm finish. Barrel aged for 10 months.
This is a French classic triple crème cheese made by Fromagerie Lincet. It originated in the Burgundy region of France where the company factory is located.
The cheese is made by blending full fat cow’s milk with crème fraîche to create an incredibly delicious soft cheese with a rich flavor and a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Delice de Bourgogne has a white, bloomy and pungent rind because of the Penicilium Candidum mold. The mushroomy aroma of thin rind adds a playful contrast to the rich, creamy, buttery and tangy notes of the interior.
2013 Cuvée de la Montagnére
60% Chardonnay / 40% Sauvignon. The field “La Montagnère” is the highest plot of vines in Valvignères, and produces only 30hl/ha. The blend of the fruity Chardonnay and the lemony mineral finesse of the Sauvignon results in a round, fresh and light wine, with fruity aromas of grapefruit, passion fruit and mango. Perfect with fish or seafood, or as an aperitif.
2011 Cuvée Ferdinand Rouge
A blend of 3 ancestral grape varieties: Syrah, Grenaches, and Carignan, matured in oak barrels. Deep and refined, displaying aromas of cocoa and blackberries. The mouth has a peppery end with a hint of liquorice. Will enhance with age, but already today it tastes excellent with a stew.
‘The Rook’ 2012 was made to showcase the world-class Merlot grown in the cooler, higher elevation sites located in the Columbia Valley and Yakima Valley. The wine was aged in mostly neutral French oak to enhance the rich flavors from an exceedingly stellar vintage.
Tasting Notes: Showing red and black fruits, sarsaparilla, orange peel, cinnamon and tobacco, this crisply textured red is balanced by fine grained tannins and a rich, pillow soft mid-palate.

Lander-Jenkins Vineyard – Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon
Lander-Jenkins is a family-owned and family-farmed vineyard in California, and is part of the Rutherford family. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a delicious wine with a fragrance of blueberry, and a flavor of caramel on the palate. The Chardonnay is a lovely wine with whiffs of toasty oak with a light bodied mouth feel and a good finish.

Jasper Hill Farm – Weybridge
The Weybridge Cheese is made by Scholten Family Farm and aged by Cellars at Jasper Hill. Weybridge is an organic, lactic-set cheese with a delicate bloomy rind. The lightly aged style is meant to showcase the Scholtens’ rich and complex Dutch Belt milk. The thin rind surrounds a delicate cream-line, showing a toasty, mushroomy flavor in contrast to the bright acidity of the dense, milky core.
Asher Blue Cheese – Sweet Grass Dairy
The Asher Blue Cheese is named after the farmers’ middle child – a little mischievous. The natural rind is hand-pierced over 100 times. The cheese has a lot of blue, and an earthy, mushroomy, mild fast. Sweet Grass Dairy is a sustainable farm that blends old-world traditions with new-world technology to develop the best environment for our animals.
Gavi 2013 – Beni di Bastiolo
This white Italian wine from the Piedmont region is 100% Cortese grapes. Visually, the wine is delicate, straw-yellow with deep green reflections. It’s nose is soft, characteristic aroma with scents of fresh fruit and white flowers. On the palate it is dry but refreshing, keen and well balanced. This is ideal as an apéritif, or accompanying hors-d’oeuvres and fish dishes. Normally $15.99 / bottle, on sale for $13.99 / bottle.
Pieropan Soave Classico 2013 – Vignaioli Dal 1880
This white Italian wine is the freshest, youngest wine in the Pieropan family range. It is made entirely from fruit grown in their own vineyards situated in the Soave Classico zone and planted only with indigenous grape varieties, including 85% Garganega, and 15% Trebbiano di Soave. It makes an excellent partner for soups, starters, especially vegetable based such as asparagus, peas, courgette, egg-based dishes or seafood and fresh water fish dishes. It is an excellent aperitif, especially when served with simple canapés.

Privateer Rum - Ipswich, MA
Their Amber rum begins with our base ingredients: Grade A Molasses and Real Boiled Brown Sugar. These sugars are added to warm water and a proprietary blend of yeast selected especially for the Amber rum is mixed in. As they create these new molecules they also create much of the aroma and flavor in the spirit. The Amber rum is barrel aged, and bold flavors that bring richness to the spirit are coaxed out. After fermentation the liquid tastes of almonds, brown butter, toasted hazelnuts and figs. The amber rum is aged in brandy and whisky barrels that each imparts its own unique characteristics into the spirit.
Tablas Creek Vineyard – Paso Robles, CA
The 2012 Patelin de Tablas Rosé from Tablas Creek Vineyards in Paso Robles is a rose blend in the tradition of Provence, produced from three red Rhone varietals: Grenache, Mourvedre and Counoise. The wine incorporates the fruit from five top Rhone vineyards in Paso Robles, each vineyard selected for it’s quality. This wine has a nose of the wild strawberry, rose petals and citrus. The mouth shows generous red fruit of Grenache kept clean by vibrant acidity and a spiced citrus note that comes out on the long finish.
Ashbourne Wine – from South Africa
Ashbourne wines are named after Anthony’s great, great grandfather Lord Ashbourne who was Lord Chancellor of Ireland in the late 1800s. In 2012, an exciting new white blend made from Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay was launched. The wine has an intriguing label reminding of the famous 4711 Eu de Cologne bottle! Maggie’s Round is made with raw cow’s milk and aged over 60 days. It is a semi-firm, whole milk cheese inspired by the toma cheeses of the Italian Alps. The flavor is sharp and bright with citrus notes. The rustic rind adds earthy tones. Try pairing it with a bright white wine or a light red wine.

Cape Cod Beer – Bitter End Imperial IPA 22 ounce bottles
The Bitter End, Cape Cod Beer’s newest specialty release,isnamed for the nautical term “bitter end” which refers to the inboard end of the anchor rope. An Imperial IPA (India Pale Ale) by style, this beer packs massive amounts of hop flavor and aroma into a medium-bodied, unfiltered brew. Bitter End Imperial IPA was brewed in the tradition of the great Imperial IPAs of the West Coast, and packs a bit of a punch at 8.5% alcohol by volume and 90 IBUs.
Corsair Distillery – Triple Smoke American Malt Whiskey
This Whiskey has a huge, rich flavor. Three smokes with peat at the fore, sweetness and vanillas. Buttery, broad flavor and long finish. Makes a great Manhattan.
Triple Smoke Old Fashioned:
3 oz. Triple Smoke Whiskey
1/4 oz. amber agave
2 dashes of old fashioned bitters
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice and stir till well-chilled. Strain into a chilled rocks glass. Add large ice cubes and garnish with a bing cherry.
